The bloom is definitely off the rose in Alberta’s resale housing market, according to projections by the Canadian Real Estate Association. In 2008, sales dropped off by 21 per cent. They’re expected to fall another 19.1 per cent in 2009. Sales of existing homes will recover in 2010, according to the association, but will remain below 2008 levels.

Resale prices fell in Alberta by just under one per cent. That’s expected to continue with a decline of 8.9 per cent in 2009 and a further drop of 1.1 per cent in 2010.
